John Abraham is in a happy phase. If as an actor he is taking giant rides with films being sold on his name, as a producer he recently announced an 8-film association that he is building with Shoojit Sircar. After VICKY DONOR, while he has already completed the shoot of MADRAS CAFE, pretty soon he would also be beginning work on HAMARA BAJAJ.
"Moreover, we are also in the process of finalising two more films which would be announced soon in a couple of months. A lot of our scripts would be concentrating on action and comedy. In addition, we are also developing three more films which would be announcing in the second half of the year," says John, "This is beginning of a long term relationship with my associates."
With him and Nishikant Kamat coming together again (after FORCE) for yet another action thriller and strong buzz around him being the lead protagonist in WELCOME 2, there is a lot that is keeping John engaged.
"It is always nice to work with people with whom you can indulge in mutual faith. Fortunately for me, I see that in people like Shoojit and Nishikant," says John, "I am all geared up for this new phase in my career after being around for more than a decade. My films are going to be very different while there would be a strong element of action to them. As an actor I am going to do a lot of super-duper commercial films. On the other hand in a producer's space, I would be carrying the USP of making truly different films."
One hopes MADRAS CAFE is indeed a good start towards that.
