B.A. PASS designed as an emotional, not erotic affair

Though the core concept of B.A. PASS may give an impression of it being an erotic tale, the fact is that the film's core genre has a different set up to it. Instead of it being designed as an out and out erotic affair, B.A. PASS is said to be carrying ample emotional quotient to it.
Says a source attached to the film, "Don't even expect sleaze to fill in the narrative. Yes, of course physical proximity between the leads plays a major part of the story telling. In fact there is a strong undercurrent of that right through the narrative. However that is not the core of it. It isn't as if the actors start getting into any heavy duty action after every five minutes. There is high drama in the film which is most important to the film."
Considering the fact that last week's NASHA couldn't really set the box office on fire, a heads-up on B.A. PASS around it belonging to a different genre only makes further business sense.
"If the film had to ride on the power of sex quotient, it would have carried an altogether different promotional strategy," the source adds, "This is a film that has gone through so many film festivals and won laurels there. It has good volume of commercial ingredients to it as well due to which it is finding a very respectable release this Friday. Moreover, you can't expect an actress like Shilpa Shukla to step into anything which exploits just the physical aspect of affairs; that would be unacceptable for her."
Considering the fact that there are ample testimonials from the bigwigs of cinema already pouring in, guess B.A. PASS could well be the surprise package of the week which is dominated by close to 10 more releases.
