It is known to all that Mahatma Gandhi was also the pioneer of the non-violence movement. But Ajay Devgn has a different view on Mahatma Gandhi.
Says the actor, ''Gandhiji was a very aggressive and a violent person. If you don't have that anger in you, you wouldn't think of frustrating your opponent without slapping him. You have to have that anger inside you to frustrate the other person. Imagine if you are abusing and I am just laughing at you. You will get angrier. But imagine the anger in me that I'm laughing at you. That will frustrate you more. Gandhiji channelized his anger very well. He didn't choose the path of violence.''
The 44-year actor feels that the youth today have more power to express their anger.
''The youth today, which forms a major part of our population, is angry. And the anger spreads through (social) media. Then even the mainstream media covers it and it even spreads further. This anger wasn't there 20 years ago.''
Ask him whether his character is inspired by Arvind Kejriwal and Ajay says, ''Not at all. My character in the film says that greed is very important. If you don't have greed, why would you work hard and progress? If channelized in the right way, that greed will make the country progress. You have to have the greed to live in a better environment and the greed to live in a better country. Only that greed can take you forward. If you want your future to be good, you have to make sure that your country's future needs to be good. This is the main crux of my character.''
Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Amrita Rao and Vipin Sharma in lead roles, SATYAGRAHA is all set to release on 30th August.
