With the presence of a star might like Aamir Khan, it was obvious DHOOM 3 will be held/tagged as perfectionist Aamir Khan film from day one. And so is the case. Though actors Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have been part of the famous DHOOM series ever since its first part came in 2004, we have not seen the duo coming forth for the year's most touted film's promotions, somehow making us believe that the two have been sidelined completely.
When we brought the same to Uday's notice, he candidly said, ''That's not true...People will naturally come to see Aamir Khan. Let's be realistic Aamir Khan is the biggest star in this movie and 90 % of the people will come to watch Aamir Khan. We are very clear about it. Naturally the movie should be more about Aamir Khan than about anybody else because that's what the audience wants. But in no way Jai and Ali, the characters that Abhishek and I play in the film, are being sidelined. They are as much part of the story. They are the ones who are after Aamir Khan and catching him. So you can't sideline them and make the film only about Aamir Khan as the story doesn't work. That's just the media way of saying things because naturally Aamir Khan has a huge clout and the ability to make the film stand on its own but in this case it's not true.''
But ask him about staying from promotions (as he missed the first look launch of the film) and he says, ''I wasn't in town. I have started my own Company in LA, which I am focusing on currently. I spent most of my time outside India actually I even called up my brother Adi and asked that I can fly down for the promotions but I need to complete my work here and I can come in later due to promotions of the film...so it was just a decision taken...I am here now to promote the film.''
Also starring Katrina Kaif, DHOOM 3, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF banner, is all set to hit the screens on December 20, 2013!
