'RD - A Walk Down Memory Lane', was held in association with Euphony, on the 20th death anniversary of the musical genius. Singer Usha Uthup, music composer Salil Chowdhury's wife and daughter Sabita and Antara, sports journalist Surajit Sengupta, among others took part in the programme. A three-day exhibition on the life and work of Pancham was also inaugurated.

''I have never met such a person in my life. I was so little beside him but in spite of that he used to come at the nightclubs to listen to me and appreciated me,' said Uthup.

''Each of his compositions has some inspiration and he was very open in his own way to tell that. The songs which I used to sing at the night clubs, Pancham da listened to them just once, played with the notes and very easily used to give birth of another marvelous composition spontaneously,'' she said.

''In every recording of Salil Chowdhury, Pancham da used to come and sit beside him for the day along and both of them used to discuss Indian and Western music,' said Sabita Chowdhury.

Antara Chowdhury presented before the audience the eulogy written by her father Salil Chowdhury, shortly after Pancham passed away in 1993.

''On the football ground, especially during any East Bengal- Mohun Bagan match, he used to sit on the ground beside the photographers corner but not the gallery to enjoy the essence of match. Though his father Sachin Dev Burman was a supporter of East Bengal, Pancham da neutrally used to support both the teams and cheer,'' said Surajit Sengupta.

Some rare photographs of Pancham are on display at the exhibition.

RD- A Walk Down Memory Lane, a musical journey of Burman in a DVD format was launched at the event.

The three-day exhibition will end on January 6.
