The very talented Swara Bhaskar (TANU WEDS MANU, LISTEN AMAYA), is in the thick of things right now. Post the much awaited LISTEN... AMAYA, she will be seen in two of the most anticipated projects of 2013, RAANJHNAA and Yash Raj Films' AURANGZEB. But when we finally caught up with the busy actress, we were more curious to know about her character in LISTEN AMAYA, where she essays the all-important title role.
When we asked the intellectual and sultry beauty, Swara, why her character in LISTEN AMAYA was not ready to accept a person like Farooque Shaikh as her father in the film, she floored us with her reply, ''You know, when Avinash (the director) came to me with the script, the first thing that I said was, 'This girl is so horrible!' On a serious note, my character (in the film) cannot forget her father, and his death has really affected her. In fact he is like a mythical figure to her, obviously she cannot accept anybody else in his place (for her mother Deepti), despite all the modern trappings and outlook in life. Actually we may talk about how we will react to a situation (theoretically) but when we confront it, we react in quite a different manner. That is what is Amaya's problem!''
Well, that does increase our curiosity about the apparently contradictory characterization of Amaya in the film, and we are sure that the audience too will give a thumbs up to film and also identify with her when LISTEN AMAYA releases this February.
