Just around a year and a half back, Kartik Tiwari and Nushrat Bharucha had come together for PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA. Immediately after the film's success, they were roped in by director Luv Ranjan to begin work on AKAASH VANI. With no break whatsoever, there was no sense of nostalgia for anyone despite the fact that it was practically the same team working in two successive films.
"Reason being that none of us ever got any time off from each other," says Nushrat animatedly, "As a team we were hanging out together during PYAAR KA...and before I knew it, Luv was talking to me and Kartik about AKAASH VANI. We started work on it soon after as narrations and other meetings began. Since there was no break, there was no question of getting nostalgic; we were always together."
Not to mention the revival of her chemistry with Kartik which was much appreciated in PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA. While they cracked it big time as a couple that was seeing a crack in their relationship, as college kids who are just falling in love, it was cakewalk for them to bring on love in the air with their latest outing.
"When we started PYAAR KA..., Kartik was very young and raw. However what surprised me was that he took to the art so well and came out shining. I told him that he had come a far away from the first day of audition. In fact when we saw the first few rushes of AKAASH VANI, we looked at each other and exclaimed that this was not us; perhaps they had shot someone else," she giggles, "Really, we have looked and felt completely different in the film."
Now here is hoping that despite carrying a different look, the film turns out to be as entertaining as one would expect from the winning team.
