Aditya Datt is having the final laugh. When the world around him was discussing and debating around the release timing of TABLE NO.21, he along with the makers stuck to their stand.
Despite the jinx associated with the first release of the year, he along with producer Viki Rajani and the cast members were confident that it was just the right date. Reason being that he was of a strong belief that at the end of the day it is a product which is good or bad and not the release timing.
"It is about time that we stop blaming dates for our failures. Recently on Eid there were three movies that released and none of them worked well. So what is a good or a bad date,'' questions Aditya while giving an obvious reference to CHAKRAVYUH, AJAB GAZABB LOVE and RUSH, none of which managed to shake the box office.
With TABLE NO. 21 gathering critical acclaim and also seeing a good commercial response with its first week heading towards the 10 crore mark, he is understandably overwhelmed.
"It is thrilling indeed", he gleams, ''I knew that we had a quality product in hand. When the film was in the editing, I could see that we had the kind of content which would speak for itself on screen. I knew that script was very good and not senseless. In fact it is this very content factor that was the major plus point of TABLE NO. 21, something which I am pretty proud and little arrogant about."
