As we have already said in out weekly box-office report - "From the bunched releases of last week, it was just the Rajeev, Tena and Paresh starrer, TABLE NO.21, that managed a decent show. The rest of the films - DEHRAADUN DIARY, MERI SHADI KARAO and RAJDHANI EXPRESS - POINT BLANK JUSTICE, saw a poor to weak start(s), and failed to make any impact."
In fact, after a decent opening weekend of nearly 6 crore, the film has seen quite steady weekdays, and will end the week netting 9-10 crores from India. Given that TABLE NO. 21 has a very reasonable budget and the Fiji government has further subsidized the costs, the film is all set to be a success. Additionally the film has grossed $ 100,000 from the overseas.
When we got in touch with the leading lady of TABLE NO. 21, Tena Desae, already on a high due to the Golden Globe nominations of her International project, THE EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, she sounded genuinely happy about TABLE NO. 21 and said, ''It's an amazing feeling when your film gets an applause at the end, when people come out feeling exactly what you hoped they'd feel, when you get messages and calls of appreciation from journalists, friends, and complete strangers! I love that the film has worked and I am beaming!''
Well, we too are very happy to see a success during the dreaded first week of the year, and hope that TABLE NO. 21 goes on to become an even bigger success.
