Vinay Virmani is a very happy young man. His first Bollywood flick, DAVID, is looking good and if insiders are to be believed, as the youngest 'David' in the scheme of things, he has turned out to be a revelation. Even as the Punjabi boy from Canada looks at beginning his Hindi film world foray with the Bejoy Nambiar affair and gives an altogether different account of himself after SPEEDY SINGHS, he says that the very title of the film was intriguing enough for him to hook on to DAVID.
'When I heard the concept, it created immense curiosity in my mind. The script further blew me away completely. The title has a mystery around it and the name DAVID itself symbolises so much, it reminded me of 'David v/s Goliath,'' says Vinay who is currently in India for the film's promotion.
Those in the know-how of legendary tale of 'David v/s Goliath' would know the significance that the two characters carried.
'While Goliath is an ultra-powerful force, a much weaker David still rises up to the occasion and fight it about. The film DAVID too is basically about the struggle of a man who is rising and wants to overcome his fear. That is the underlining theme. My story is about this young boy who is put up in a most unlikely situation and some extraordinary circumstances. Now he has to fight for his life.'
In the film, Vinay plays the part of a musician who comes from a very humble household. Other than playing music, Vinay was also required to perform a lot of action which as per him is 'real, gritty and emotionally driven'.
