Swara Bhaskar began her career with itsy-bitsy roles in films like NIYATI, MADHOLAL KEEP WALKING, GUZAARISH, etc. and later came into limelight & garnered various accolades & awards with commercial hit TANU WEDS MANU for her superlative performance as she played the supporting role. Now the firebrand actress is all geared up for her first leading role in the forthcoming film LISTEN... AMAYA, directed by Avinash Kumar Singh, where she essays the title character. And Swara is mighty excited about it!
According to Swara, after NIYATI she once again has an author-backed role in LISTEN...AMAYA. ''Yes it's my first release as leading lady and I am super excited about it. After NIYATI, I yet again have an author-backed role in LISTEN...AMAYA. When Avinash came to me with the script I actually joked about the character saying 'She is the villain of the film'.''
Swara may be known to perform with ease however she found her character in LISTEN...AMAYA pretty challenging. ''It's always easy to play yourself. So, it was pretty challenging as I am completely different as compared to Amaya. I had to relate with the emotional impulses of the character and bring out the required vulnerability.''
LISTEN...AMAYA also stars the likes of Deepti Naval and Farooque Shaikh, who are collaborating after 28 years. Swara, who shares screen space with the seasoned actors, is happy to associate with the duo as they bring in a lot of creditability to the project.
''It was a great step to associate with actors like Deepti & Farooque Shaikh. They bring so much creditability to the film. I am glad and proud to be tagged with this film and the legendary actors like Deepti ji and Farooque ji. I feel really honoured to have shared the same frame with them. I got to learn a lot watching them. They make a wonderful pair on-screen, also because they are such effortless actors.''
Ask if she was awed performing in front of actors Deepti & Farooque, who are known for their craft, and she says, ''NO. They both made me feel at ease. There was no apprehension per se. Besides being good actors they are extremely warm people too. They really take you as you are. They have an individualistic approach.''
Swara also shares a great bond with director Avinash and his wife Geeta, who is the co-writer and editor of the film too. She says, ''Both Avinash and Geeta have clarity of idea of what they want. They let you be your own at the same provide ground for improvising. I am quite fond and affectionate of the duo. They make you feel like family.''
