There has been a saying that everybody cannot dance and there are people out there who are endowed with two left feet, Dharam Paaji being a living example, but it seems Remo D'Souza has taken it upon himself to change the notion with his latest offering- ABCD aka ANY BODY CAN DANCE. This is a new acronym for ABCD, which in its earlier avatar was known as 'American Born Confused Desis'.

One would not know whether STEP UP 3, famous dance competition movie from Hollywood is the inspiration for ABCD, but Remo D'Souza has effectively used the platform of Nach Baliye to promote his troupe as also his film as well, underlining with emphasis how synergies can be created between television and cinema by imaginatively using the platform of television as Remo D'Souza.

Specialty of Remo D'Souza lies in the fact that he has not forgotten his roots, he is a small town boy from Jamnagar, who became a dance master just by watching the performance of Michael Jackson on the television screen. He belongs to the generation of the eighties when Michael Jackson had created a buzz around the world and had been a source of inspiration for scores of youngsters around the world.

ABCD's distinction lies in the fact that it is India's first 3D dance film and the cast and crew have been assembled primarily from the various dance shows that he judged after the success of his first directorial venture F.A.L.T.U. So we have the stars from the Dance India Dance show like Salman Yussuf Khan, Dharmesh Yelande, Punit Pathak and Vrushali Chauhan who form the core nucleus of ABCD.

Obviously no film which is based on modern dance can be completed in its star cast if it does not include the Indian Michale Jackson, Prabhu Deva! Indeed, Prabhu Deva forms an integral part of the ABCD and he also features along with Remo D'Souza in various dance shows as well.

Remo D'Souza being a man representing the aspiring middle class of the country, ABCD, like F.A.L.T.U is aspirational. It primarily deals with the fact that one should leave no stone unturned to live the dream which has been kindled in one's heart.

Remo D'Souza is one of those aspirational figures for the youth of the present generation, who has made his dream come true with his devotion and passion to his craft -dance, and is an icon worth emulating for the belief that he had in self and ABCD is the outcome of such a belief. After the release of the film Remo D'Souza desires to come out with a book on the modern dance form that has evolved in India off-late and it again would be a best seller.

After all, this man has choreographed more than 1000 songs in Hindi cinema so far.
