With the release of LISTEN... AMAYA the present generation of movie goers would indeed get an opportunity to understand and imbibe what pairing of stars meant in the world of Hindi cinema in the era gone by. LISTEN...AMAYA marks the return of Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval as the pair who gave a new paradigm and idiom to the urban romance for an emerging middle class in the early eighties manifest through films like CHASHME BUDDOOR. There was no pretense to this pairing, but a simple approach of a boy meets girl in the urban surroundings and both falling in love with each other and trying to sneak moments of togetherness, not by-passing the societal norms of those times.
Now that two decades have gone by the pair returns to the silver screen once again with LISTEN...AMAYA which in sync with the age bracket that they now represent is a love story of adults who having fulfilled their responsibilities now find that the world has moved on, and to survive in this world, they need to find someone who understands the situation and is empathic.
