It was just two decades back, in 1993 when a young but highly talented filmamker took the first plunge into Hindi cinema through LOOTERE (The Love Plunderers )

Featuring top names like Sunny Deol, Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah, LOOTERE went on to be a highly successful debut venture and made director Dharmesh Darshan a name to reckon with in the Hindi film industry.

CHECK OUT: LOOTERA Ranveer's impressive weekend pick up!

Circa, 2013, Vikas Bahl's LOOTERA directed by Vikramaditya Motwane releases amidst a lot of hype and promotion but unfortunately could not last beyond the weekend. So what went wrong, despite all the media hype, lavish production values and audio score?

To know the reason we got in touch with the elusive LOOTERE director Dharmesh Darshan, who politely told us, ''Yes, LOOTERE was my debut directorial venture and one of my most under rated films in spite of being a box office winner. The attention was taken away from LOOTERE due to the huge historic success of RAJA HINDUSTANI. It is sad that (almost) similar/same title has not worked this time. I can only say that it is one of the uncanny things of the industry and that it is an indication to the industry that such things really don't work.''
