With just a couple of weeks left for the big occasion, the hype around Shahrukh Khan's Eid bonanza, CHENNAI EXPRESS, is reaching its pinnacle. The catchy music is already hotting up the charts, and the hilarious dialogue promos along with 'mast masala' action promises an all-round entertainment, Rohit Shetty 'ishtyle'!
The leads, Shahrukh and Deepika Padukone, are leaving no stones unturned in terms of massive promotions and the fourth estate was privy to some very interesting insights into the film itself, some not heard beforehand.
As per media sources, the reason why Shah Rukh Khan boards the Chennai Express, which leads to so much trouble is that SRK was required to immerse his grandfather's sacred ashes/remains (astiyan) in the holy city of Rameshwaram, as per his last wishes. But SRK did not want to go there and instead planned to go to Goa on a vacation, as he felt that the ashes could be immersed anywhere. So, he lied to his grandmother and boarded the Chennai Express at Mumbai, with a plan to get off at Kalyan and set off for the vacation. But destiny had other ideas for him, and he could not get off. However that wrong journey gave him the right sense of direction, which in a nut shell is the philosophy/ theme of the film.
Well, the story and the theme sounds pretty interesting, and we are sure that with a director of the caliber of Rohit Shetty behind the strong script, this Eid will surely be sweet for the audience as well as the team of CHENNAI EXPRESS.
