It is certainly not easy to make a mark in male-dominated films but it seems the budding actress of Bollywood, Manisha Kelkar knows how to make her presence felt! After making her debut in an all-male cast BANDOOK, Manisha will be now seen in yet another male outing BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN.

''It's always nice to be a single female lead. I am really glad that people are trusting me and offering such good roles. If they are casting me in such roles that show how much faith they have in me. People believe that girls don't have much to do in a boys' film but the fact is without females the story is incomplete. No work or no role is small or big. Even if there is one scene and if you can make an impact through it your job is done and that's how my role in BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN has turned out. I do have a significant role,'' says Manisha.

While her first film BANDOOK dealt with volatile political undercurrent subject, BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN, her second flick, is a laugh riot yet with many twists and turns that will entertain to the core. ''Yes BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN is out-n-out comedy. It's a very interesting film with a different treatment. It has many twists and turns. What is exciting these twists come suddenly in the plot, which makes it edgy. There's also a surprise element towards the end,'' says Manisha in an excited tone.

However, ask Manisha how it was switching from doing an intense role in BANDOOK to comedy in BOYSS and she says, ''Yeah, BANDOOK was highly intense film. After enacting every scene I used to sit back to come out of that frame of mind. For me doing intense role was little challenging because I am very funloving, chirpy, happy-go-lucky kind of a person, always smiling and cracking jokes. I love making people laugh. I believe in laughter. Comedy comes naturally to me. Nevertheless, I can pull off any role,'' she adds with a pause, ''BOYSS was my comfort zone. It was like working with friends. But, my character in BOYSS is not the one which will tickle people's funny bones.. It's my and Aarya's (co-star) chemistry in the film which will bring fun & smile but at the same time our track will shock many. My character has certain surprise element attached to it. It's a very girl next door role. There is enough depthness in my character, which subtlety shocks you. It's not going to be hair-raising and will be acceptable. ''

Manisha is all praise for director Amit Vats' expertise and style of working, ''Amit has been real strength to the film. Despite of highs and lows he stays calm and knows his job well. He sits with his actors and then executes accordingly, that is his forte.''

Besides, Manisha can't stop raving about bhajan samrat-turned-producer Anup Jalota for his humanity, ''Many of them perceive Anup sir to be very classical and serious type. In reality, he is very versatile personality and has a childlike enthusiasm. When you talk to him you come to know how energetic, friendly and understating he is. He can behave like a mature elderly person at the same time he can be your best buddy too. Anup puts the kind of faith in his actors. He is ever motivating and will never let you down,'' Manisha also narrates a sweet incident as to how Anup accommodated her dates and gave that work space, ''When I got a call from BOYSS team that you have been selected for the role, I had already committed elsewhere. And it was very difficult for me to back out or adjust my dates. I even called up Anupji and informed him about my prior commitments. Had it been someone other than Anupji, one wouldn't have cared about it. But Anupji specially called me and informed that 'we have shifted the dates and you are still on the project'. How gratifying it was? BOYSS happened because of Anupji. It was a great association.''

While Chaitannya Swami, the co-producer of the film, always stood for his team whenever required. Says Manisha, ''Swamiji was one person who stood there throughout the film. He was always there whenever required. Usually producers never visit sets but Swamiji each day dropped in on the sets and made sure everything was running smoothly.''

Ask Manisha, after doing male centric films, if she is looking to do a female-oriented film and she utters, ''Male or female-oriented I am game for both. I would love to female centric films also if something comes my way.''

Also starring Raj Kumar Yadav, Anshuman Jha, Dhruv Ganesh, Gulshan Grover, Divya Dutta, Manu Rishi Chadha, Adil Hussain, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Sharat Saxena and Virendra Saxena in pivotal roles, BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN, directed by Amit Vats, is a story of four youths grappling with their own unique situations that make their life a thrilling roller coaster ride.
