After a wait for three long years, Sonam Kapoor has reasons to celebrate and party hard. Her RAANJHANAA has turned out to be a winner at the box office and it is three years after I HATE LUV STORYS that Sonam has seen a much cherished success coming her way.
''Her last three films didn't work at the box office. PLAYERS was a major flop and so was MAUSAM, where she was the key protagonist. Failure of especially latter really hurt her very badly and she took a long time before finalising her next. This is when she chose Aanand L Rai's RAANJHANAA amongst all other offers that had come her way. In fact this was one film on which she placed all her bets. The gamble has worked and with her acting getting some very good recognition as well, it is a 'sone pe suhaaga' moment for her'', says an insider.
Though post I HATE LUV STORYS she had a minor success in the form of AISHA, it was widely felt that after a dream debut in SAAWARIYA, she was made for bigger things. Fortunately though, instead of any knee jerk reactions resulting in any wrong moves, she chose to go slow and opted only for Eros' production RAANJHANAA.
Adds a source, ''The film is now all set to cross the 50 crore total that I HATE LUV STORYS had managed to fetch for itself. By all means, RAANJHANAA is going to be the biggest ever success for Sonam Kapoor. She has all the right reasons to be elated and deserves all the accolades. It was much due.''
