One of the major releases of next week, SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA..., a satirical film with an undercurrent of humour, may well be Anshul Sharma's directorial debut venture, but the talented maker surely knows his job as has worked with many top names of the Hindi cinema. He informs us that he has worked with Anurag Kashyap (in DEV D and NO SMOKING ), Vishal Bhardwaj (OMKARA ) and Suneel Darshan (BARSAAT and DOSTI). The wonderful audience response to the hilarious promos and songs do substantiate his claims. And no wonder that his debut vehicle, SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA..., is an anticipated film!
When we asked Anshul if the film was all about inflation ('mehngai'), and whether there were any other tracks like romance, comedy etc. in the film, Anshul replied, ''Yes, the main focus of our film is inflation. It was a few years back when the idea of the story took shape due to the spiraling onion prices, but now inflation has assumed humongous proportions due to skyrocketing prices of all the essential commodities, and so the film has become more topical. But there are other tracks like romance, comedy etc too. Actually, the issues are serious but the situations are comical and they have been dealt with a backdrop of humour and satire.''
Well, definitely Anshul has chosen the hot and topical issue of price rise that is plaguing every section of the society, and we are sure that the audience too will identify with the film in a big way, and give its thumbs up when the film hits the cinemas next Friday.
