Sajid Khan: When I launched HIMMATWALA with Ajay, it raised lot of questions

Countdown has begun for HIMMATWALA. With just a little over 10 days remaining for the film's release, it is time to enter into the fifth gear. While camaraderie between Sajid Khan and Ajay Devgn is pretty much apparent in every conversation they are seen together, they have also revealed the kind of trust they carry in each other. So much so that the only impression one gets is around how HIMMATWALA of 2013 would have been synonym only with their presence.
"It was a little different though when we started working on the film,'' says Sajid, "When I launched HIMMATWALA with Ajay in the lead, it raised a lot of questions and eyebrows. Many people felt if it was a right call. There were even loose talks in the industry that both of us were making a mistake. However the fact always remained that I had written the film keeping only him in mind and no one can take that away from me."
As is a known fact, Ajay being his college buddy knew Sajid's love for entertainers, especially when it came to HIMMATWALA.
"Exactly,'' he agrees, "This is the reason why the moment I narrated my script, he was completely bowled over. See, both of us are industry kids and know how industry reacts whenever a film is announced. We both knew that once our film's trailer is out, it would quieten a lot of people. Of course the intention was not to make those select few detractors go quiet but instead show audience what to expect. Agar trailer mein itna hai toh socho picture mein kitna mazaa aajeyaga."
We too look forward to that once this co-production of Vashu Bhagnani and UTV releases all over on 29th March.
