After HIMMATWALA, Ajay Devgn would be returning on the big screen sooner than expected. While SATYAGRAHA, his next major film, would arrive only in the month of August, it would be another film of his - NAAM - which would hit the screens much earlier. Apparently, the film has a BOURNE connection to it.
''The film was started around a decade back and at that time it was called BENAAM. The film's plotline was on the same lines as THE BOURNE IDENTITY which had just been released. Just like Matt Damon's character, even Ajay is supposedly playing a man who races against time to fight amnesia and in the process keep assassins at bay,'' informs a source.
Though there was no official statement issued by the makers back then, the buzz around the film died down due to all the delays. However now that the film is back in news due to its release later this month, one is curious to see how the actor and his director (Anees Bazmee) would pitch the film.
''Of course no one can be expected to make any statement around the BOURNE series, more so since there have been three sequels already made around the film. Also, the film is bound to have a dated look and feel to it since Ajay's personality has gone through a sea change during the decade gone by. It is just the thriller factor that may do the trick since BOURNE as a franchise has worked with the audience,'' a trade guru reflects.
However, for that one looks forward to how exactly does the film get promoted. Given the fact that it is a delayed film, it is tough to imagine anyone going the whole hog, despite its Hollywood connection.
