Post the release of HEROINE, one would have expected Madhur Bhandarkar to be starting his next soon after. However, even though more than six months have gone by, the filmmaker is maintaining complete silence on what he would make next.
''Though Madhur's films have music, his films cannot be termed musicals. Also, he has 4-5 songs at maximum being interspersed in the narrative. However he is now exploring a script which would have a place for as many as 7-8 songs,'' informs a source, ''It would be the most music-heavy film ever of his career.''
Madhur's last release HEROINE had boasted of an item number (Halkat Jawani) while DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI too had a few melodies. However for his next film with Bhushan Kumar, he is looking at a script which would have immense scope of music, something that would also play an integral part of the film.
''With T-Series, you are bound to have music being on the forefront as well in addition to the other elements. Having said that, the film would boast of a unique angle too, something that comes with Madhur's territory. The film cannot be usual or everyday just because there are songs to take care of the final product. At the heart of it, the film would be quintessentially Bhandarkar,'' says a source attached to the film.
When contacted, Bhandarkar confirmed the news. ''Yes, that's true. However it would be too early for me to divulge all details for now. I would be first doing a film with UTV.''
Though there are rising speculations around what he is making next and with which actors, Madhur said that currently he is on a holiday and would be able to confirm plans only on his return.
