GIPPI and GO GOA GONE
Last Friday saw the release of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's zom-com GO GOA GONE and Karan Johar's teen coming-of-age fare GIPPI. As expected it was GO GOA GONE which opened decently and saw a pick up over the next two days, thus netting 14-15 crore (to be validated) during the opening week from India. Given the very reasonable 9-10 crore budget, GO GOA GONE is all set to be a plus fare. Unfortunately Karan Johar's GIPPI did not manage to translate the appreciation into numbers and despite improvement over the weekend, netted around 4-5 crore (to be validated) during the first weekend. In the overseas GO GOA GONE saw disappointing collections (better in US) grossing £48,000 from UK and $170,000 from the US during the opening weekend (10-12 May).
