This week's major release is Ram Gopal Varma's SATYA 2. It was expected that brand SATYA would ensure at least a decent start for SATYA 2. Unfortunately the film barely managed a 5-10 per cent start at an all India level. While certain quarters of the media feel that the film has been done in by KRRISH 3 wave, but given the general buzz, SATYA 2 would not have achieved anything substantial otherwise too.
SATYA 2 and KRRISH 3
The box-office flight of Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH 3 kept soaring higher and higher. After crossing the 100 crore mark, the film kept up the tempo during the weekdays too due to heavy patronization from the family audience, who favour clean, escapist entertainment.
The film ended the first week netting in the 125-130 crore range (as per initial inputs/estimations) thus surpassing Hrithik Roshan's highest solo netter, AGNEEPATH. The dubbed version(s) added another 6.0 -6.5 crore (to be validated).
KRRISH 3 is also doing wonderfully in the overseas having grossed around $5.5m (approx.).
Given the fact that the Rakesh Roshan directed KRRISH 3 is still quite strong in the second week, and with no real opposition, the film has strong chances of being Hrithik's Roshan's first solo all time blockbuster.
