GOLIYON KI RASLEELA RAM-LEELA is a hit and now en route to being a 100 crore success, what with the weekdays holding quite strong as well after a 53 crore opening weekend. For Ranveer Singh, the film has already crossed the sum total of collections that his first three films - BAND BAAJA BAARAAT', LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL and LOOTERA - had gathered worldwide.
All set to be the newest entry into the 100 crore club, Ranveer confesses that he always believed in himself to be a star-actor one day.
'From the very childhood I wanted to be in the world of films,' says Ranveer, 'When I was kid and people asked me that would I want to be then I used to say nonchalantly - 'Hero banoonga, aur kya!' It all came so obvious and naturally to me; I didn't have any second thoughts. As I started growing up, I didn't believe that I could know or do anything better. ' While GOLIYON KI RASLEELA RAM-LEELA is his first ever out and out quintessential 'masala' mainstream flick, his last release was LOOTERA which took him to an offbeat world. How much did he enjoy the film's run?
'Well, people did say that I delivered a performance which was probably not expected from me. I think I did a decent enough job. There was tremendous amount of appreciation that came my way. Kuch alag dikhaane ko mile otherwise zindagi bhar shaayad wahi karta rehta jisse career shuru kiya tha. Personally, the film worked for me because people noticed exactly what I wanted them to notice. I got some very good reviews so yeah, to answer your question, I did enjoy the making and then release of LOOTERA.'
Now he is looking forward to the release of his next film, GUNDAY, which arrives on the Valentine's Day i.e. 14th February.
'I have never thought of anything else in life than being a mainstream Hindi hero. I didn't come here just because I wanted to be famous. I am here for the love of acting, dancing, action. It is sheer joy that I cherish most in front of the camera. There can't be anything better,' smiles Ranveer before signing off.
