Akshay Kumar: BOSS is cable and wire free!

Though DEEDAR was officially his first film, it was in 1991 when the audience saw the action king's first glimpse in SAUGANDH. Right from the entry scene to the climax, it became obvious that it was genuine action from a star who was properly trained and qualified in martial arts.

We are obviously referring to Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar, who redefined action by continuing to perform his own death-defying action sequences. 'Khiladi' became synonymous with Akshay Kumar and action till almost 10 years, when Akshay decided to move to romance and more importantly comedy.

However, post the Hollywood venture, MATRIX, the trend of using wires and cables for performing actions, which looked real on screen, took over, and for some films even Akshay used the technique for novelty value. But with ROWDY RATHORE and KHILADI 786 Akshay returned to raw, and more importantly 'masala' action, which is in vogue.

Talking to the vernacular press during the promotion of the Anthony D'Souza directed venture, Akshay spoke in length about the kind of action that the audience can expect to see in BOSS, and also denied that there is cable action in BOSS. Akshay said that there are no fights in the air as is the norm and one can say that BOSS is a cable free film.

Elaborating on the action Akshay briefed the media that the fights in BOSS are man-to-man and in the climax he and Ronit Roy have a direct fight, which is real and raw, with lots of fist and hand fights. Akshay also promised that the audience will witness a hero and a villain fighting one-to-one after quite a long time in Bollywood, and that it will be a real treat for all his die-hard action fans who are eager to see the 'Khiladi' back in vintage form.
