RAJ KAPOOR, MEHMOOD and KADER KHAN
Eminent actor and director Kader Khan is producing a movie called IN YOUR ARMS. The highlight of the movie is that the movie stars three generations of Kader Khan that includes Kader Khan himself, his sons Sarfaraz and Shah Nawaz Ali along with his eight-year old grandson Hamzaa, who is the son of Sarfaraz.
One may be aware that prior to this Raj Kapoor made a movie called KAL AAJ AUR KAL( 1971) that brought the Kapoor clan together in the movie featuring Raj Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor (Raj Kapoor's father) and Randhir Kapoor (Raj Kapoor's eldest son.
However, it may come as a stunner to most of them that KAL AAJ AUR KAL was not the first movie to bring three generations of a single family together on celluloid. Any guesses which is the first movie to have three generations of a family in a film? Well, it is none other than the Kapoor clan itself and the movie was AWARA (1951). The movie featured Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor's grandfather and Prithviraj Kapoor's father, Dewan Basheswarnath.
Dewan Basheswarnath played a cameo role of the judge in the movie. The film gives him credit as Grand Pa in the credit titles. This was Dewan Basheswarnath's only movie. Prior to this he was a police sub inspector in Peshawar (now in Pakistan).
Another movie that brought three generations together in a movie was Mehmood directed movie KUNWARA BAAP (1974). The movie had Mehmood and his son Mikki, who in reality is polio affected and his father Mumtaz Ali, playing the role of an alcoholic father of the heroine.
