With SATYA 2 having been postponed to November 8, this week's bunched releases included Saurabh Varma's MICKEY VIRUS, the Vir Das starrer SOOPER SE OOPER, Rajeev Khandelwal's ISHK ACTUALLY along with BULL BULBULL BANDOOK and WAKE UP INDIA.
Quite expectedly, it was Manish Paul's MICKEY VIRUS which led the race, though the 15-20 percent start was nothing to write home about. Still given the fact that the campus crowd, and especially GenX has taken a liking for the movie, augers well for the Saurabh Varma directed venture, and the weekend should be reasonably decent, thanks to the expected Saturday and Sunday business.
All the remaining releases saw a below 10 percent start, and it was just Vir Das's SOOPER SE OOPER which managed some noticeable collections.
Meanwhile last Friday's Anthony D' Souza directed Akshay Kumar starrer, BOSS, which had netted 40 crore during the extended 5-day weekend, fell heavily Tuesday onwards, and ended up netting a below par 50 crore (to be validated) during its opening run (9-days). BOSS's future looks bleak with KRRISH 3 releasing next week, and this Friday onwards the multiplexes preferring to screen MICKEY VIRUS at many screens during prime time.
