It is a male dominated world and this is true even in Indian Cinema as the hero rules the roost. Be it the remuneration or credits on screen, it is always the hero in the driver's seat. However, readers would be stunned to know Nargis, the most popular actress of 50s and 60s, is the only artist who has been honoured with the most 'Prominent Credit Title' till date in Indian cinema both on screen and in poster (Kindly check out in the original poster attached)! Further you would be surprised to know that her name precedes the movie's name!!

A rare recognition given to any actor in Indian Cinema! Admeasuring the magnitude of her role and the quality of her performance she rightly deserved too.

Nargis not only won the Filmfare Best Actress Award in 1958 but became the FIRST Indian to receive the Best Actress award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the present-day Czech Republic.
