The so-called intellectuals may be pursing their noses in disapproval, but the fact remains that Indra Kumar's adult comedy, GRAND MASTI, has been wholeheartedly endorsed by the actual cinema going audience.
During the opening weekend GRAND MASTI has netted 40 crore (to be validated), just from India. The only films that have done more during their first weekend in 2013 are CHENNAI EXPRESS, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI and RACE 2. And that should make it clear that GRAND MASTI has indeed set the box-office on fire, keeping in view its star cast, moderate budget and selling price.
In the overseas too GRAND MASTI has done quite decently grossing £80,000 from UK and $223,000 from the US during the opening weekend itself.
In the process, the Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani starrer, GRAND MASTI, has not only crushed it's co-releases like HORROR STORY and JOHN DAY, but it has also marred the chances of a good second weekend for Yash Raj Films' SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE.
