Saqib Saleem is a relative newbie in the industry and while he hasn't featured in a hardcore romantic entertainer as yet, to act alongside a kid was a first for him. However, with kids forming a major part of the narrative of his next, HAWA HAWAAI, he was conscious enough while acting alongside them.
'Since Saqib plays a skating coach for number of children, he wanted to ensure that there was a good rapport built with them on the sets/locations and beyond. He was all the more particular about forming a bond with Partho Gupte, son of director Amole Gupte, since the film is centered on the relationship that the duo shares,' informs a crew member.
To do that, he used to constantly communicate with the youngsters on board so that there was absolute bonding in place once the camera was rolling.
Says Saqib, 'Partho may be just 11-12 years old but he is phenomenal. You don't feel as if you are acting with a kid since he comes across as a complete actor. He is someone who knows the 'sur' of a particular scene on play. To begin with though, I was very apprehensive that how would the tuning develop since Partho is just a kid and I work best when I develop a certain rapport with my co-stars. More than anything else, I wanted him and the other kids to love me. However the kind of professionalism that Partho showed was amazing. I am sure he will grow up to be a big actor.'
