While Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar may be looking to create some records with his upcoming film BOSS, he feels that gone are the days when films worked in the name of mere superstars, irrespective of the script. But today the scenario has completely upturned. All that audience look for is a good script in any particular film, irrespective of the star.
When asked Akshay if the presence of superstar works for the good promotion of film or helps in raking good moolah at Box-office, he candidly said, ''It's not about big stars or actors anymore. Today good scripts work at Box-office and click with the audience whether you have star presence or not. In fact, the small budget, script-driven and character-driven films with good actors make good money,'' he adds, ''Even If the film is laden with stars it won't work if the script is weak. Woh Din Hawa Hue Jab Superstars Ka Zamana Tha ab din aaye hai character-based films ke. Our films worked at that point of time its fine. But now an actor can't simply rely on stardom. He/she needs the backing of a tight script and a good director.''
