She has already done a film with Shahid Kapoor (BADMAASH COMPANY) and is currently wrapping up a biggie with Ranbir Kapoor (BOMBAY VELVET). However Anushka Sharma, in her new innings as a producer-actor, is finding herself on an altogether different professional ground. Her NH10 would be clashing with Ranbir Kapoor's ROY and Shahid Kapoor's HAIDER and as things stand today, there won't be any change in plans, well, at least for Anushka.
'This time around she also has an added responsibility of being a producer, which means her call is taken on finalizing the release date. Even though makers of HAIDER and ROY have confirmed plans for 12th September, NH10 has eyes set on the same date. There won't be any change in plans,' says a source.
In fact Eros, which is producing the film along with Anushka and another production house Phantom, even went ahead and recently released a statement confirming the release plans.
RANBIR KAPOOR, ANUSHKA SHARMA AND SHAHID KAPOOR
Based on a couple's road trip gone away (Anushka has Neil Bhoopalam for company, though an official announcement is awaited), NH10 is directed by Navdeep Singh, the man behind critically acclaimed MANORAMA SIX FEET UNDER, which too was a thriller. On the other hand Shahid's HAIDER has Vishal Bhardwaj at the helm of affairs whose last directorial outing (MATRU KI BIJLEE KA MANDOLA) ironically featured Anushka in the lead. As for ROY, it would mark the directorial debut of Vikramjit Singh.
Considering the manner in which female centric films are doing so well in the current times, case in point being QUEEN and RAGINI MMS 2 which are as distinct as they get, Anushka could well feel comfortable about NH10 - where she is playing the central protagonist - giving competition a run for its money.
