After two back to back films, DEDH ISHQIYA and GULAAB GANG, Madhuri Dixit has taken a mini break from acting with no new films being signed. Though she is active when it comes to her online dance school, it would be a while before she is seen on the big screen again.
Says Madhuri, "I was so much busy with the shooting of these two films last year and their promotion this year that I didn't even have time to sit down and think about my next."
There were speculations that she would be joining the cast of Zoya Akhtar's DIL DHADAKNE DO with Anil Kapoor, her co-star of many superhits, as her leading man. However, the rumors died their natural death.
"I would love to make statements like 'Hey, I get 10 scripts to read every day and I loved so and so script but dates didn't allow me to include them in my schedule'. However, I would rather work and let my film speak for itself than make any announcement or comment on films being offered to me," says Madhuri.
For now, she is happy to find over one lakh participants from 139 countries logging on to her online dance school.
"Yes, that's very exciting," says Madhuri with glee, "It has been my dream and passion to take dance to every home. It is wonderful to see the likes of Saroj Khan, Birju Maharaj ji, Remo D'Souza and Terence Lewis teaching various forms of dances and expressions on the website."
As for her film sojourn, she re-emphasizes that she is in no hurry. "There is nothing on for me right now. I guess this is a well-deserved break," she smiles before signing off.
