The minute one thinks of Bollywood's oldest yet the most prestigious banner Rajshri Productions, you expect to witness some mushy family drama and dhoodh ka dhula characters. And just like us Bollywood actor Rajeev Khandelwal too deduced the same when he was offered SAMRAT & CO.
''Yes totally, in my head I was thinking I'll probably wear Kurta Pyjama, then I'll do Namaste. My character will have a very sweet name and do all the syrupy talk. The kind of beautiful films they make, I thought even I'll be offered something same. And back of the mind I was contemplating whether I'll be able to do justice or pull off such a role, which I haven't done till now. It would be a challenge if I do something like that but then I immediately thought what better than a Rajshri Production,'' Rajeev shared his first feeling when he got a call from the coveted banner.
He added, ''...But I was surprised when the makers called me up and informed beforehand that this is not a Sooraj Barjatya film or his type of film. When they came up with SAMRAT & CO., I was surprised with the kind of genre they are doing, which is completely different. But when, Kavita Barjatya and Kaushik Ghatak, producer & director respectively, narrated me the subject I thought what better than to be part of the change.''
