Sabbir Khan: Tiger Shroff has no air of being Jackie's son

After a starry affair KAMBAKKHT ISHQ, filmmaker Sabbir Khan is now taking the onus of launching a star son Tiger Shroff (Jackie Shroff's son) through his upcoming film HEROPANTI. Wasn't it a risky proposition of taking the responsibility on shoulders being just one-film old? ''There was of course responsibility involved but no pressure as such. Since everything was planned,'' says Sabbir.
Ask him if HEROPANTI happened to give Tiger a perfect launch pad and Sabbir divulges, ''Actually, the actors became a part of the project much later. The script was prepared first. Sajid (Nadiadwala) and I were contemplating of working with newcomers from a long time as a part of change for the Company. Moreover, the script demanded new faces so obviously there was no scope of having stars.''
Since a lot of star kids are looking forward to step in Bollywood, ask if Sabbir considered anyone before roping in Jackie's son for HEROPANTI and he says, ''No Tiger was apt for this role. Tiger is a unique actor, a great gymnast and dancer. He has all the qualities of being a Hero. I don't think anyone else would have done justice to it.''
As the script was ready beforehand, did they alter it once Tiger was on the project? ''I would not like to use the word alter but we enhanced the script and elevated his character in the film,'' says the director.
Sabbir further reveals that having title HEROPANTI was a conscious decision. Since his father made a mark in the film industry with Subhash Ghai's HERO exactly 30 years back. ''It was a conscious decision to have HEROPANTI as title. We deliberately decided to have it for nostalgic factor, since 30 years back Jaggu Dada made his presence with HERO. Basically, it's all about heroism. But HEROPANTI is completely different from Jackie's HERO. It's a contemporary story and nothing to do with HERO. It's an important and very real story in nature.''
Despite coming from a filmy family, Tiger Shroff didn't carry the baggage of being a star kid. In fact, he isn't a filmy kind of a person. ''Tiger has absolutely no air about being Jackie Shroff's son. He isn't a filmy person at all. He is not the film enthusiast who'll keep talking about different stars. He's very humble, polite and grounded. Since Tiger didn't come with a pre-conceived notion, it was easy to groom guide and shape him up the way we wanted. As you can only write on a blank page!'' Sabbir states on a parting note
