Arshad Warsi best recognized as 'Circuit', the adorable hoodlum in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's MUNNABHAI series has struggled hard in his life to reach the position that he commands today in Indian film industry. The actor turns 46 today, Glamsham.Com wishes him birthday greetings and unravels his fear for audition that compelled him to even refuse international fame director Mira Nair!
Arshad Warsi has proved his histrionics as an actor par excellence by excelling not just in comedy (GOLMAAL, DHAMAAL etc.) but has also done sober roles too. Remember SEHAR, JOLLY LLB etc. He has even done a negative role in ZILLA GHAZIABAD. Thus he is a competent actor however despite being acknowledged as a good actor Arshad confesses that he has audition fear!
In an interview he admitted, ''Never in my life I have given audition. I get goose bumps on been asked for audition.'' He adds, ''Luckily, when I was selected for my debut film TERE MERE SAPNE, the director Joy Augustine was impressed by dancing skills and it was he who offered me the role, I did not approach him. Joy was confident of my ability. Even Bachchan Sahab (TERE MERE SAPNE was produced by Amitabh Bachchan's ABCL production house) was excited by my photographers and had given his approval hence there was no need for an audition.''
He adds, ''However, when Mira Nair approached me for her movie SHANTARAM and requested for an audition I was taken aback and declined the offer jus to forgo the audition.''
Arshad says that god has been kind to him and after MUNNABHAI series he is being respected as a fine actor and is being offered diverse roles. However, he candidly admits, ''God forbids if a time comes when without audition I cannot get a film then I will land in trouble.... May be I will be jobless as I cannot give audition.''!
