Rajeev Khandelwal: I'm a reasonably intelligent actor

Rajeev Khandelwal's stint with suspense thrillers continues. After AAMIR and TABLE NO. 21 (where he was the central protagonist), the actor would now be seen in his third film belonging to this genre, SAMRAT & CO. The film sees him coming together with director Kaushik Ghatak who had shot over 100 episodes of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and is the man behind at least half a dozen other television soaps.
''However, I realized that he had a knack for thrillers when he narrated SAMRAT & CO. to me,'' says Rajeev who would be seen in his first ever Rajshri film, ''The way he went about it, it seemed that in his mind he had already seen the film. Still, at every step I thought that I was ahead of him. However in reality that was never the case as there was some or the other twist round the corner. I felt that I had cracked the mystery but he proved me wrong right till the end when I got to know about the climax only while shooting for it.''
For someone who has done a good deal of television before stepping into films, Rajeev comes with widespread experience even on the technical front of filmmaking.
''I guess I know my director's style of filmmaking from technical standpoint as well. Also, I do feel that I am a reasonably intelligent actor,'' chuckles Rajeev, ''Still, Kaushik used to surprise me every now and then. He has shown his own style of shooting a suspense film. I realized that all the more when I saw the film during dubbing. He has rocked the show big time here. I can bet you won't know what is in store in the end while waiting the film.''
Here is hoping for an intriguing affair indeed when this Kavita K. Barjatya's production with Madalasa Sharma as the leading lady releases all over this Friday.
