New releases are washouts, 45 crore plus for ACTION JACKSON!
December 13, 2014 12:34:18 PM IST By Abid, Glamsham Editorial
As they say, if somebody is hell-bent on suicide, nothing can be done. The same holds true for both the new releases of the week, BADLAPUR BOYS and MAIN AUR MR. RIGHT. Releasing a week before Aamir-Hirani blockbuster PK, the two reasonably well made above mentioned releases opened to an expected dismal start of below 10 percent. Needless to add that despite all the expenditure occurred in promotion and release, both are washouts.
BADLAPUR BOYS and MAIN AUR MR.RIIGHT
As we had said in our box-office report, the best opening was reserved for mega star Rajnikanth's LINGAA, even in its Tamil version (dubbed will come a week later), in the Mumbai circuit.
Meanwhile last week's ACTION JACKSON could not improve upon its so-so weekend, and ended the first week netting in excess of 45 crore from India. Despite the fact that ACTION JACKSON has managed a good price via the satellite rights, the total investment of around 100 crore (to make, promote and release), the film will struggle for recovery. Adding to the woes, the Ajay-Prabhudeva venture has taken a big tumble on the second Friday(eighth day).
To conclude on a happy note, the coming Friday, that is 19th December is sure to see the next blockbuster after Farah-SRK's HAPPY NEW YEAR. Stating the obvious, we are talking about PK.
