Irrfan & Tisca's QISSA shines at Rotterdam Film Festival

NFDC's QISSA starring Irrfan, Tillotama Shome and Tisca Chopra has won the Dioraphte Audience Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival - a first for an Indian film. Directed by Anup Singh, QISSA is a Punjabi film set in the post-partition era. Irrfan plays a Sikh in the movie.

Earlier, QISSA has travelled to many film festivals (Abu Dhabi, New York, South Asian International and Toronto) garnering acclaim and honours.

The maiden flick filmed under the Indo-German film co-production treaty, QISSA is an international collaboration between India, Germany, Netherlands and France. The film secured funding from the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the Dutch Film Fund, Eurimage and German funds Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and North Rhine Westphalia (NRW).
