Parineeti Chopra: I haven't yet achieved stardom
February 5, 2014 10:58:19 AM IST By Rachana Sheth, Glamsham Editorial
While actresses fall back on stars (Shahrukhs and Salmans of the world) to gain access to or to make their presence felt in the glitzy industry, our sparkling Parineeti Chopra has achieved stardom- and even bagged a National Award - solely on her acting merit.
Bring it to Parineeti's notice about having achieved the feat without being with biggies and she says modestly, ''I haven't yet achieved stardom...You achieve stardom after a long time, after giving huge number of hits.''
But probe her to reveal the reason of not working with the most sought-after stars of B-town and she says, ''Well, I am really looking forward to working with the seniors. I did get many offers where there was the presence of big stars, but I had a miniscule role in it. Since I didn't have enough work in it, I rejected those offers...but, when I'll have a good script and a good role, I would definitely take it up for sure.''
Talking about the on-going '100 crore' mania in Bollywood, Parineeti adds, ''Actually, today all kind of films (from AASHIQUI 2, ROWDY RATHORE, BARFI, COCKTAIL, etc.) are making 100 crores. So I don't think there is a specific genre for it. But I will choose films that have great roles for me. Like all these action films, some of them released and while some were offered to me, while some were in the making. However I didn't do them...having said that, I will never become an arty actress.''
And, Parineeti has no regrets of chucking film offers that were offered to her on her way. ''No, I don't regret refusing any role. Whatever roles I took up have paid off well and that's important for me. I am pretty satisfied with the way it is going,'' she says.
Meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra is gearing up for her upcoming release HASEE TOH PHASEE, which hits screens on 7th February, 2014.
