Saif Ali Khan had hinted about this close to a year back. Now it is going to be a reality. Saket Chaudhary and he are coming together for a film. As has been the case with Saket's PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS and soon to be released SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS, this yet untitled film too would be a slice of life affair.
As per sources, the film would have a funny flavor to it. Though it is about a family, the set up would be different from the kind that one usually sees in films. Saif has liked the core idea and Saket is developing it further. Once he is through with the release of SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS, he would give the script its finishing touch. Most likely, he would be bringing it on floors in the second half of the year itself.
Now this is a huge shift indeed for Saket who is seeing a gap of 8 years between PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS and SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS . However if all goes well, his next would release in 2015 itself.
Confirms Saket, 'Yes, this film is going to be my immediate next. I have been writing it for Illuminati Films [Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan]. It is in a very funny space and is centered on a family.'
He isn't willing to divulge much on the cast though. 'I don't know as yet whether it would be with Saif in the capacity of an actor as well. Let's see.'
As for the gap between his films, he wants that to be reduced now.
'Obviously, even this eight year wait hasn't been by design,' smiles Saket, 'No one wants to take so many years to get back on the floors. See, after PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS, it took a little bit of time to get the script together and then to get the actors together as well. When we had approached Farhan, he was supposed to go on floors for BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG, so we had to wait for that period. Due to this, it became a little complicated. Then in between too I was writing a couple of scripts but things were not working out. Unfortunately it became a big gap. Hopefully it won't be that late in future anymore.'
