This weekend witnesses Yash Raj Films' Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra - starrer GUNDAY hitting the screens and while everyone is gung-ho about this one, the makers have a special 60-second montage included as a tribute to the legendary director, the late Yash Chopra.
The script of GUNDAY is very special for the entire team, especially director Ali Abbas Zafar for various reasons.
Firstly, GUNDAY was the last script Yash Chopra had heard and he also gave his inputs and suggestions to the director. Second reason, being that he advised Ali to film the coal mine scenes at actual locations and not recreate it in studios, just like he did in KAALA PATTHAR, a film that inspired Ali to make GUNDAY.
Thus it was the director Ali Abbas Zafar's idea to have this small video included at the beginning of GUNDAY, as a tribute to the famed director and his mentor.
Confirms a source from YRF, ''Yes it was Ali Abbas Zafar's idea to include the montage. He was very, very keen as this was Yashji's last script which he had heard. This was an emotional moment for Ali.''
The film is slated to release on 14th February 2014.
