Freddy Daruwala - the new villain in Akshay Kumar's career

He was the 'villain' himself in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBAARA and then went on to be the BOSS in the namesake film. However, while being on a HOLIDAY, Akshay Kumar is happy to get a brand new villain on board. The man in question is Freddy Daruwala, a popular model and face of many advertisements, who would be beginning his Bollywood journey with the film as an out-and-out-villain.
Apparently, the makers (producer Vipul Shah, director A.R. Murugadoss) wanted an entirely new face for the film so as to bring in a surprise element. Since the action thriller is centered on the issue of sleeper cells operating in various parts of the country, it was imperative that the man in the middle of it all didn't carry any image and could pass off as a common man.
Freddy hasn't been seen before in the world of movies and was considered the best fit for the film. His physique, overall good built and nice looks went further in his favour and once everyone had a dekko at what he could deliver on screen, Freddy was signed up for HOLIDAY.
'It is a big deal indeed for Freddy, since he is playing an antagonist to a protagonist as huge as Akshay Kumar. It is a game of cat-and-mouse being played between them. There are twists and turns at various points in the narrative as for a good part of the film, they are not even in the same frame and are interacting over the phone,' a source attached to the film adds.
When contacted, Vipul Shah confirmed the developments. With Sonakshi Sinha as the leading lady and Pritam as the composer, HOLIDAY releases all over on 6th June, 2014.
