Five years ago, filmmaker Satish Kaushik had given a break to newcomers Sachin-Jigar to compose the music for his teen flick TEREE SANG. Erstwhile assistants with Pritam, the youngsters never looked back, post that break. In the years gone by, they have only gone from strength to strength. Circa 2014 and the filmmaker, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry when it comes to his musicals, has gone ahead and put his faith in another set of youngsters: Dharam-Sandeep, to put together the soundtrack of his ghost comedy GANG OF GHOSTS.

Apparently, Kaushik was looking for someone who could come up with a soundtrack that reflected the quirky nature of the plot that GANG OF GHOSTS boasts of. Since he wanted song numbers that were young, fun and unpredictable for his film that boasts of a huge ensemble cast, Kaushik felt that it would be best suited if relatively fresh composers were given an opportunity.

Dharam-Sandeep, who in the past have collaborated with Ram Gopal Varma for RAKHT CHARITRA and DEPARTMENT jumped on the opportunity and played a few tunes that were instantly liked by Kaushik. Ratan Jain, who is producing the film along with Kaushik, was impressed as well and the composers were on board.

For Kaushik, who has to his credit one of the biggest musicals ever in Bollywood history: TERE NAAM, [which has Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid-Wajid] come together, as well as some other major musical successes [MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI (Anu Malik)], HUM AAPKE DIL MEIN REHTE HAIN (Anu Malik); [HAMARA DIL AAPKE PAAS HAI (Sanjeev-Darshan)] clearly took a leap of faith when he entrusted another bunch of almost-newcomers to collaborate with him on the music.

''After being in the industry for over three decades, the least I can do is to back relatively new talent. It is fantastic when they understand your vision as a director and come up with music which is in accordance of that. Dharam-Sandeep have created a sound that goes with the 'spirit' of GANG OF GHOSTS. Pun intended,' smiles Kaushik.

Starring Sharman Joshi, Mahie Gill, Anupam Kher, Meera Chopra, Saurabh Shukla, Chunky Pandey, Yashpal Sharma, Asrani, Parambrata Chatterjee, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Khattar, J Brandon Hill and Vijay Verma, GANG OF GHOSTS releases all over on 21st March, 2014.
