Ali Zafar: Not fond of comedy where you try to be funny

Right from TERE BIN LADEN to CHASHME BADDOOR, Ali Zafar has been known for enacting the most hilarious of scenes with a straight face in a natural manner. Playing a common man sans any overt herogiri, Ali is one of the few acting imports from Pakistan who have found a steady footing in Bollywood.
Now with TOTAL SIYAPAA too, Ali is looking at exploring his comic timing further.
'Yes, TOTAL SIYAPAA too is in a very straight-faced comedy zone. In any case, I try to be as close to real life as possible. I personally am not very fond of comedy where you try to be very funny and then make people laugh. What's the point in that? I think that when the situation is funny, the comedy comes out from the tragedy of the situation,' chuckles Ali, who has also won quite some brownie points in his biggest hit till date, MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN.
Now that he would be seen as a solo lead in TOTAL SIYAPAA, an E. Niwas film where he has Yami Gautam for company, Ali is positive that there would be good number of filmgoers rooting for the film.
'For me, less is more,' says Ali, 'I think that if you can make people laugh with slight nuisances and with as less of acting as possible, that's an achievement in itself. This is the reason why mostly you will see me reacting in a film, as for me, it is more about reacting rather than acting.'
Hopefully, audience reactions too would be at just the right places when this Neeraj Pandey production releases all over on 7th March.
