Come March 2014, a self-confessed ''sinner'' is all set to turn saint! More precisely, transform into a Buddhist monk. And the man in question happens to be Mahesh Bhatt, the irrepressible entity of cinebiz.
This sea-change will occur for SIDDHARTHA, directorial debut of Mukul Misra, wherein he will share screen frames with Shazahn Padamsee and Shivam Bhargav.
After donning the hats of director, producer and screenwriter, Bhatt will now showcase himself as an actor. One narration...and Bhatt was floored enough to accept SIDDHARTHA. Bhatt, who's had the good fortune of interacting with the Dalai Lama, opines that he's in tandem with the tenets of Buddhism.
Bhatt is quoted to have said, ''I accepted SIDDHARTHA because like the protagonist in the film, I am also looking for answers to life.''
However, suspense looms large over whether Bhatt will go in for a real-life tonsure or opt for prosthetics to get the 'bald' look right on screen.
Misra's movie tracks the life and times of a troubled young boy, with Shazahn enacting the girl who ultimately changes his life. Word has it that the crew of SIDDHARTHA has been in intensive workshops for quite a while and will be leaving to shoot the film in Manali soon.
