Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Media Works' production, GULAAB GANG, has been slowly and surely peaking at the right time. The very interesting trailers, heart-touching folk and classical based musical score and above all, the clash of the titans, the iconic super-starnis, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla, have made the Soumik Sen written, directed and composed GULAAB GANG a hot proposition.
'Talking to the vernacular Press about GULAAB GANG, Soumik brushed off the general perception that the film is just about two strong female protagonists fighting for/against social injustice and he explains, ''The main issue that has been at the centre of focus in GULAAB GANG is girl-child education and making them self-dependent and financially independent. It's about woman empowerment through their own hard work and self-belief.''
However Soumik is quick to clarify that his film is not an art or off beat film. Says Soumik, ''I have not made an arty or serious film even though it carries the noble message of girl child education, equality and self-dependence. It's a shudh masala film with all the elements of fun and entertainment added to it like songs, dances and humour as well, so that the film remains entertaining.''
Indeed, a noble massage with entertainment will be the prime factor for GULAAB GANG receiving accolades when the film releases all over on 7th March, just a day before Women's Day.
