Soha Ali Khan is making news for showing off her toned body in her upcoming film, Samir Tewari's MR. JOE B. CARVALHO opposite Arshad Warsi. Soha, who sports a bikini for the first time in her 9-year long career, has been receiving lot of appreciation for her bold look.
Ask Soha how it was shooting for the scene, she retorts, ''Bikini scene was really easy to shoot as there was no preparation time available. This is because we were shooting in Goa for something else and Samir (film's director) saw the pool and he said let's shoot a scene here so I didn't really have anything like a sleepless night or something.''
While Soha wasn't uncomfortable donning the bikini, she made sure that the entire scene made sense in the film, says Soha, ''My only concern was that when you are wearing a bikini, people should not say you look really bad. So I decided to wear my own swimsuit because I know it fits me really well and that's important. And my other condition was there has to be some water for her to get into the pool otherwise why is she wearing. And actually there is an important reason why she gets into the pool in the movie. So it makes sense.''
She adds further, ''The only thing that I am uncomfortable is the media attention around it. I didn't want people to take it the wrong way. Because I am not wearing it to sell the film, it is the part of the film and now it is on the poster of the film. But that is the decision of the marketing team and not me.''
Meanwhile, ask her about her cabaret number 'Chumma Chaati' in the film and she laughingly says, ''I didn't think ever that I will dance to a song called 'Chumma Chaati'. I was terrified looking at the costume but yeah it turned out quite nicely. I showed my mom (veteran actress Sharmila Tagore) the song and she said I look like a 12 year old. But yes it was a kind of sweet and clean cabaret number.''
Directed by Samir Tewari, produced by Shital and Bhola Ram Malviya, the film also stars Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaffrey and releases on January 3, 2014.
