Arjun Kapoor has turned 29 and for someone who has managed a solo 100 crore super hit (2 STATES) to his name, and that too in just his fourth Bollywood outing, Arjun has all the reasons to fly high.
"What I can't afford though is my work to go downhill," says Arjun who has three hits to his credit already, including GUNDAY and debut flick ISHAQZAADE, "Yes, box office is important as it shows that audiences are willing to spend money on seeing you on screen. However that also makes it my responsibility to deliver each time around."
For a new entrant in the industry, he has a lot on his plate already, what with FINDING FANNY and TEVAR too lined up for release before the close of year.
"The idea is to do some consistent work," he says, "As an actor, I can't control box office but then I can control my performance for sure. A film of mine may or may not work but then my work can never be below par."
CHECK OUT: Arjun Kapoor plays Savio D'Gama in FINDING FANNY
No wonder, after a controlled performance in 2 STATES, expectations are huge from him when it comes to his upcoming films. More so since FINDING FANNY with Deepika Padukone marks his debut into a film which is in English and Hindi while TEVAR is an action packed love story on the run with Sonakshi Sinha alongside him.
So, is he under pressure to deliver already?
"Well, pressure is good naa," he brings on a wry laugh, "If you say that people have expectations from me, I would be happy. It is better than people having no expectations whatsoever from me."
With the First Look of FINDING FANNY all set to be unveiled and showcasing Arjun in an altogether different zone, it would be good to see how consistent does Ranveer turn out to be this time around.
