Kiara Advani is all gung-ho about her debut film FUGLY which is up for a release this week. In a quick chat, the pretty actress opened up about her film and her relationship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
On quizzing her about the equation she shares with the DABANGG actor, Kiara confessed, ''Salman sir is someone I have known for a while. He is a family friend. Whenever I do something, I take his advice and always keep him in the loop. His experience is something that I cannot discard and I have lot of respect and regards for him. He is very kind and a down to earth person who doesn't carry the superstar status with him. In fact, when I met Salman sir for the first time, he told me not to address him as sir but I was like I just can't not call you sir!''
Interestingly, there have been reports doing the rounds that it was Salman Khan who helped Kiara Advani fetch FUGLY.
Probe Kiara about it and she clarifies, ''When I auditioned and got selected for FUGLY, I was to call up Salman sir to tell him that I got this film. But then instead he called me up because somehow Ashvini Yardi, my producer, knew about the fact that I am close to Salman sir and she had already called him up and told him that they have liked me for the role.''
She continues, ''Then Salman sir told me, 'Look Ashvini has already told me that they have liked your performance. So if you want to do this then you should go for it'. Thus, contrary to the popular belief, it was my producer who called up Salman sir and told him that they wanted me to be in the film.''
Produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi's Grazing Goat Productions, FUGLY is directed by Kabir Sadanand. The film also stars Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Jimmy Shergill, Arfi Lamba and is all set to release on June 13, 2014.
